CURTIS ALEXANDER
Name: Curtis Alexander
Country: England
Position: Striker

Signed from: Paris St.Germain in July 2002
Left for: Died in May 2005

Curtis Alexander signed at Harchester United from French side Paris St.Germain in July 2002 on a free transfer - just six months after the Dragons had originally attempted to sign him.

This time, it was the lure of once again teaming up with his former PSG manager Patrick Doyle that tempted Alexander to sign for Harchester United.

In his first season with the Dragons, Alexander found scoring goals hard to come by - something he'd found easy to do at PSG. It was often frustrating for the striker but in the end, he came good in the Dragon's fight against relegation.

At the start of the 2003/04 season, Alexander was linked with a move for Sheffield United following the signing of Luke Davenport.

However, he turned it down and eventually went on to have an eventful season that not only saw he made captain by the end, but also player/caretaker manager as the Dragons finished 4th in the league.

The Dragons were then relegated for match fixing, but Alexander captain the side to success in the Championship Play Off Final - he was tragically killed later that day in the coach explosion.

ANDY ANSAH
Name: Andy Ansah
Country: England
Position: Defender

Signed from: Brighton & Hove Albion in July 1999
Left for: Retired in May 2000

Andy Ansah arrived at Harchester United at the end of his career in July 1999 to add some much needed experience to a very young side that were about to play in Europe for the first time.

Ansah had a brief spell as captain too. When Michael Dillon was set to be sold to Charlton Athletic, he was made club captain before eventually being replaced by Didier Baptiste.

After a long hard season in which he played the majority of all matches, Ansah's season came to an end early in the final game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur following a hamstring injury.

In May 2000, he hung up his boots and retired taking up the position of Assistant Manager - he'd be in this position until March 2005 when he quit the club to become a manager in the USA.
