Andy Ansah arrived at Harchester United at the end of his career in July 1999 to add some much needed experience to a very young side that were about to play in Europe for the first time.
Ansah had a brief spell as captain too. When Michael Dillon was set to be sold to Charlton Athletic, he was made club captain before eventually being replaced by Didier Baptiste.
After a long hard season in which he played the majority of all matches, Ansah's season came to an end early in the final game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur following a hamstring injury.
In May 2000, he hung up his boots and retired taking up the position of Assistant Manager - he'd be in this position until March 2005 when he quit the club to become a manager in the USA.
