After impressing in the Youth Team and Reserves, Robbie Walsh was given a chance in the first team away to Shelbourne in the UEFA Cup where he went on to play well and get a few more appearances.

Alex Wilkinson made his debut for the Dragons on Boxing Day 1998 after impressing manager Ian Coates in the Youth Team. He didn't have the best of debuts however as the Dragons lost 3-0.

NATHAN WOODS

Country: England
Position: Goalkeeper

Signed from: Youth Academy in January 2005
Left for: Leeds United in March 2005

Nathan Woods was an impressive young keeper that did brilliantly to cope with racial abuse by a hostile crowd in Rome in only his second game for the club.

Just as Woods was beginning to look like becoming the clubs new first choice goalkeeper ahead of Viv Wright, he decided to move to Leeds United on a free transfer instead.

VIVIAN WRIGHT
Name: Vivian Wright
Country: England
Position: Goalkeeper

Signed from: Free Transfer in January 2004
Left for: Died in May 2005

Volatile and unpredictable goalkeeper Viv Wright was signed on a free transfer by manager Stuart Naysmith after the keeper had served his 15-match suspension following a huge incident at his former club, Middlesbrough.

WWright suffered with a disorder that led to him doing strange things off the pitch. It also disrupted his game on it.

He walked out on the team just before kick off, he attacked his team-mates - yet when manager Don Barker was sacked in 2005, Wright was given the position as player / manager.

This was where Wright became a different man. He became more controllable and went on to lead his team to promotion. But sadly, just hours after, Wright was killed in the tragic coach explosion.
