LEICESTER CITY - 1 - 0 - HARCHESTER UNITED

Championship side Leicester City became the giant-killers of the Carling Cup Third Round as they knocked out their East Midlands rivals and Premier League Champions Harchester United.

Jimmy Craig made many changes to the Dragons line up which also saw Jason Porter being named captain of quite a young side. But not even he could stop the Foxes gaining victory.

New Foxes boss Gary Megson put out what he perceived to be his strongest side and it certainly paid off as they had the majority of possesion and the majority of chances.

Porter went on to have the Dragons only chance of the game, but Foxes keeper Martin Fulop easily saved. Ian Hume went on to grab the winner for the home side in the 67th minute thanks to a Stephen Clemence cross.
