EVERTON - 1 - 0 - HARCHESTER UNITED

Leon Osman's late goal was enough for home side Everton to get all 3 points against champions Harchester United at Goodison Park this afternoon.

The Dragons were clearly missing the suspended Gavin Moody and Jason Porter both in midfield and attack, but they were able to compose themselves in defence for 89 minutes of the match.

Miguel Lopez came close both in the first and second halves with efforts striking the woodwork. Yakubu also came close for the home side but for a fingertip save by Alex O'Mare.

The winner for Everton came in the 89th minute. Ryan Naysmith headed the ball out for a corner as the home side pressed. An inswinging corner led to the ball being caught then dropped by O'Mare into the path of scorer Osman.
