MANCHESTER UNITED - 3 - 1 - HARCHESTER UNITED

Harchester United's league campaign for the 2008/09 season got off to a start that was familiar to their pre-season campaigjn - a disappointing defeat as they lost 3-1.

New signing Luiz Costa was the only Dragons player to impress during the game as he managed to not only get on the scoresheet, but also give the away side the lead after 24 minutes.

However, it didn't last long as the Premier League and European Champions got themselves an equaliser through Ryan Giggs in the 33rd minute which was shortly followed by Paul Scholes hitting from distance to give the home side a 2-1 lead at half time.

In the second half, Manchester United dominated the game which left Steve Kramer's side frustrated to say the least. Michael Carrick completed the victory for the home side with a deflected shot in the 72nd minute.
