Harchester United progressed into the 1st Round of the UEFA Cup after knocking out Irish side St. Patricks Athletic 3-2 on aggregate in the 2nd Qualifying Round following a 2-1 at the Dragons Lair tonight.

The game started badly for the away side with their midfielder Glenn Fitzpatrick had to be taken off with an ankle injury after just 5 minutes of the first half.

However, substitute Gary Dempsey then went on to give St. Pat's a surprise lead after 35 minutes when his shot deflected off Johnny Carlisle.

The Dragons equalised through captain Gavin Moody in the 2nd half after striker Luiz Costa played a sublime through ball into his path.

The victory, and UEFA Cup spot, was sealed in the 76th minute went debutant Marcos Rosteen came off the bench to score from a free kick.
