Harchester United midfielder Ajose Makinwa looks all set to be heading home from the Africa Cup of Nations, despite two fantastic personal performances so far.

Makinwa's Cameroon just haven't played to their full potential in their opening 2 games and, following 2 defeats, have crashed out of the competition with one game left to play.

Cameroon's 2-1 defeat to Ivory Coast earlier today means that they will be heading home from even if they beat Sudan in their final group game.

On a personal level, the Dragons midfielder and sole representative of the club at the tournament was Cameroon's man of the match in their opening game defeat - a 2-1 loss to Angola.

In that game, Makinwa set up captain Samuel Eto'o to score their only goal of the game.

In today's defeat at the hands of Ivory Coast, it was the Harchester United man who was his country's best player in the 2-1 defeat.

He also set scored the opening goal of the game, before goals from Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba sealed a 2-1 victory for the opposing side.

Makinwa remains upbeat despite his country's exit from the competition: "It is disappointing, but now we'll concentrate our attempts to make sure we'll be stronger at the World Cup in Brazil in 2014."
