Diego Forlan has completed a
move to Spanish side Atletico Madrid after just one season at Harchester
United in which much of it was spent on the sidelines due to a broken leg.
Supporters are outraged at the move and have been demanding more answers
from the club.
Today, chairman Terry Harrison confirmed "The £14million paid to Villarreal
last summer was infact £11million paid by Atletico and £3million by us. It
was a joint deal in which we were permitted to have Diego for the first
season of a 5 year contract.
"We had to first year to give him a break from Spanish football out of
respect." |
