United’s new £30million stadium opens today with a first home fixture
against Wimbledon in the FA Carling Premiership.
Fans have been queuing since
the early hours of the morning to get the last remaining tickets. The police
are also out in force as nobody is taking any chances for a repeat of FA Cup
Final day.
Can the new stadium give the
team a lift they need following a poor start to the season? When the
question was put to captain Michael Dillon about the game being a dress
rehersal for the crucial UEFA Cup game with Ajax, Dillon simply replied:
“Well Ajax is next week! Today we’re just concentrating on beating
Wimbledon.” |
