Harchester United have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Juan-Carlos Xaviero from Atletico Madrid on a 4-year contract in a deal costing £6million to the Midlands club.

Xaviero, who speaks fluent English thanks to a three year spell with Scottish side Celtic, will be unveiled to the press on 1st August but is said to be delighted to be signing for the club.

In a statement released today, the 25 year old revealed "I have always wanted to play for Harchester United as I remember playing against Karl Fletcher during my time with Las Palmas and his with Real Mallorca.

"We spoke after the game and he spoke so highly of the club that I made it my determination to one day play for this side should the opportunity arise" said Xavier who made his Las Palmas debut at just 17. He signed for Celtic in the summer of 2004 before moving to Atletico Madrid in January 2007.
