Harchester United defender
Johnny Carlisle has been suspended for 6 matches by the Football Association
for punching Newcastle United striker Andy Cooper during Sunday's Premier
League clash.
Carlisle's suspension, however, will only apply to domestic games in
England and will not affect his loan move to Portugal. This decision has
upset many football pundits.
"I think it's disgraceful, he's pratically got away with it because he isn't
serving any suspension" said Jamie Redknapp of Sky Sports.
Onofre Costa, press officer of the Portuguese Football Federation, said
"Jonathan Carlisle will only be suspended here if he is sent off playing
here." |
