Johnny Carlisle began his loan
spell with Benfica last night by ending the match as captain of the side.
The Dragons defender was sent on loan by manager Steve Kramer following
his bust up with Jason Porter which then led to Carlisle punching an
opponent in the face in his last game with Harchester United.
However last night, Carlisle put in a such a professional display against
Leixoes that led to Nuno Gomes handing Carlisle the armband for the final 15
minutes as he was being substituted.
Following the 2-0 victory, Benfica boss Quique Sanchez Flores said "Jonathan
was outstanding for us today and we are happy that he joined us here." |
