 Ajose Makinwa signed for Harchester United from French side Auxerre in the summer of 2009 for a cost of £5million.
The Cameroon international had just enjoyed a fantastic season with the French side in which he picked up the accolade of Player of The Year.
Following inconsistent performances by Gavin Moody, Dragons boss Erik Gentner went out to sign a player who played in a similar role to help drive the side forward in that area of the field.
Makinwa started out slow at the club, but really began to find his feet and before long he had nudged Moody out of the side.
However, disaster struck for Makinwa as a cruciate knee injury was sustained whilst playing for Cameroon at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This injury meant that he would not feature at all in the 2010/11 season.
On his return from injury, Makinwa has found it difficult to regain his place but Erik Gentner has assured him that if he works hard, he'll be given the same opportunities as the rest of the squad.
