Former England captain David Beckham signed for Harchester United as a Free Agent during the January transfer window of 2012.

Beckham was set to sign for either Paris St.Germain or AC Milan after contract talks had broken with former club L.A. Galaxy, but it was the surprise interest of Harchester United that won through.

Beckham began his career at Manchester United where, after a brief impressive loan spell at Preston North End, the youngster cemented his place in the first team as the club went on to win the Premier League and FA Cup double in 1995/96.

The following season saw Beckham score the famous goal from the halfway line against Wimbledon on the opening day of the season - a season in which Beckham went on to win the Premier League again.

Beckham would go on to win the Premier League on another 4 occasions as a Manchester United player. He also went on to win the Champions League in 1999, narrowly missing out on the treble when Harchester United beat them 2-1 in the FA Cup Final that year.

In 2003, Beckham teamed up with Erik Gentner and moved to Real Madrid. But he would have to wait until 2007 to win his first, and last trophy with Real - but it was Spains biggest as they secured the La Liga title for the first time in 4 years.

Beckham then moved to the United States and L.A. Galaxy to be exact where he would have to, again, wait 4 years before landing the league title - the MLS Cup in 2011.

Beckham also had two loan spells at AC Milan during his time at L.A. Galaxy, but during the second spell in 2010 he picked up an injury which cost him his place at the 2010 World Cup.

Represting his country was something that was hugely important for Beckham. He went on to captain his country from 2000 t0 2006.

Playing for England made Beckham the nations villain and eventually the nations hero - off the pitch he was and still is the nations media darling.

And now Harchester United are the latest to experience the life and career of David Beckham.
