Gavin McCarthy signed a first team contract for Harchester United in June 2011 after being a part of the club's Youth Academy since the age of 12.

McCarthy made his debut against Bradford City in the FA Cup 3rd Round in 2012 and has impressed massively whilst featuring for the reserves.

He was part of the Youth team that made the 2011 FA Youth Cup Final which lost out narrowly to Manchester United over 2 legs.
