 Johnny Carlisle is a no-nonsense, tough-tackling defender that signed for Harchester United from Leeds United in the summer of 2007.
Despite being an Irish international at the time anyway, Harchester United surprised everybody after signing a then-League One defender on the back of winning the Premier League the previous season.
If anybody though was doubting the transfer then, they have been left to eat Humble Pie since following his fantastic commitment, drive and determination to push the club forward in recent years.
In his first season, Carlisle was part of the side that led the Dragons to the Semi Finals of the Champions League and in recent years, Quarter Finals appearances too.
There was also the acheivement of winning the Carling Cup for the first time in the club's history in 2011 in which Carlisle played a huge part alongside fellow centre-back Andrei Kirovski.
Kirovski and Carlisle's partnership in the centre of defence has been second to none and will leave striking opponents fearful of facing the two when attacking at goal. |
