Marcos Rosteen signed for Harchester United in August 2008 for a price of £16million from Ajax.
The Dutch international began his career at Ajax after being a part of their youth academy set up since the age of 9. He says that he felt he was always destined to be a top class footballer.
In his first season as a first team regular, 2003/04, Ajax went on to win the Eredivisie title. This was followed by Dutch Cup titles in 2006 and 2007, all of which Rosteen was a vital part of, as well as being a part of Netherlands 2006 World Cup Squad.
In July 2007, English Champions Harchester United were looking to boost their squad for the coming season and made a substantial offer to Ajax to buy Marcos Rosteen which was accepted by the club. Rosteen refused though stating that he felt the club was a mess and wouldn't sign until they become more stabilised.
A year later, and Rosteen completed his move for £16million.
Rosteen has gone on to be a vital part of Harchester United's midfield alongside captain Liam Mackay. There have been top 3 finishes in the Premier League for the 3 years he has been at the club and there club have also won the Carling Cup for the first time ever during that era.
