HARCHESTER UNITED PLAYER PROFILE ...

2. WARREN WAY
Name: Warren Way
Country: England
Position: Defender

Signed from: Everton in January 2009
Debut: Liverpool (Home), FA Cup 4th Round, 24th January 2009

Warren Way signed for Harchester United for £2million from Everton in the January transfer window of 2009.

Manager Erik Gentner needed a realiable right back as back-up for Simon Becky and the out-of-favour Everton defender fitted the bill perfectly.

For much of his time at Harchester United, Way has found himself as a second choice right-back. However, when Simon Becky was sold in the summer of 2010, Way's chance came about to make himself permanant in the position.

For much of the 2010/11 season, Way was consistent in the position until an injury put him out of action for 5 weeks. During this time, youth teamer Anton Young was given his chance in the side and impressed the manager hugely. So much so, that he became the new right back.

Although disappointed, Way continues to remain professional and gets the job done when required.

Way began his career at Everton and made his debut at the age of 18 in 2001. In 2003, he became the clubs permanent right-back and played in the position for many years.

In the 2006/07 season, he damaged his cruiciate ligament and was out action until November 2007. Way never really got back into the side following this injury and publicly made his feelings about this and manager David Moyes known in an interview with the Liverpool Echo newspaper in May 2008.

He was then frozen out of the side until he signed for Harchester United in January 2009.
